This is such a hard message to write. The season EvnU have been enjoying for over 6 years is coming to an end. Lesley, Sue and I have decided to retire from Youth and Children’s work. This will be phased over a couple of months. Stacey is actively seeking full time employment to get a proper wage so she may leave us before we finally close.
We really are celebrating the way in which we have had so much fun as we have delivered the Christian message to so many Young People and Children, and I guess some of the parents have had a sneaky listen in.
Festivals, concerts, holiday clubs, Cathedral events, Open the book, School Assemblies, Mentoring and of course our Friday Night Cafe Respect. It has all been amazing worship to our wonderful God and He has been with us all the way.
We have worked with so many wonderful, amazing people who have put up with Malcolm as well as the youth and kids!
On December 10th, 2019, we will close the Rendlesham, St Felix, After School Club and Evnuth evening session with a big party. At the end of January 2020, we will close the Thursday, After School club held in All Saints, Hollesley when Reverend Ruth retires.
Open the Book will also stop in December until a new team can be established to do the work. This may take a bit of time but well worth the wait.
The whole team and many others, locally, and in the diocese, have been trying so hard for nearly two years to find a way the work with your children can carry on. At this time, we have not been successful, it does not mean it won’t happen, and soon, but not at this moment in time. You will be the first to know of any changes.
On behalf of all of us we can only say a huge thank you for trusting us with your children, it has been so much fun and such a privilege to be a part of their young lives.
May God keep blessing you and them, now and forever.
Malcolm, Lesley, Sue and Stacey
